How many doubting Thomases?
by konceptual99 inas an active witness atm i speak reguarly with friends and family who are also active.
it seems however that there are some things that people are comfortable discussing such as beards (whats the problem) and birthdays (everyone would if they could) and, if you are with close friends, things like confusion over the generations, pressure of keeping all the balls juggled, harshness of rules around da/df ones along with long lapsed family and to some extent blood.. my guess is that there are many more who may be in a similar state of mind to me and wondering if it really is all worth it.
it makes me wonder about how many with express themselves more if they could?

And some further details on the matter as it was explained to me... The YPA crap says that masturbation is bad because it's "selfish" and "idolatry". However, the basic question is, how can you expect someone else to satisfy you sexually if you don't know how your own parts work?
True, but I think many of the women will agree that men's understanding of their what gives a male satisfaction is not the issue here: it's the males inability to get the woman off that's more of a problem...
But that leads us to this:
Rather than your sex life being a puzzle, at least go in knowing your magic spots so that you can inform your partner. And porn can make it all even more educational. If you want to be good at something, you have to spend time practicing and learning from the experts, right?
Yeah, I'd agree in spirit.
But "porn = educational?" Hmmm, that's a questionable assertion, since most of it that I've seen heard about is very much filmed from the male perspective (where from porns, you'd think "spilling one's seed" on a woman's face and in her eye gives her some sort of pleasure? Hmmm....)
This is one of the fundamental errors JWs make, not allowing males AND females to learn from prior experiences. Instead, they're expected to buy each other's cars without the benefit of a test drive, unable to see if they're sexually-compatible? HUGE mistake....
(Another hold-over from the male calculus of thinking, "if she doesn't know any other experiences, then she won't know how much I really suck (or don't suck; wink, wink, nudge nudge) in bed... Flawed logic, all the way around.)

by rather be in hades ini'm a big science nerd and i remember when we were going over the creator book, that the big bang doesn't necessarily prove there is no god.. i said this comment during book study and the conductor's jaw dropped.
everyone was pretty uncomfortable and it didn't help that he ct me off as i was explaining the red shift and mom wasn't too happy about all that.
i had to do a lot of bible research and write some nonsense about how the big bang was not reality or some sort...ugh.. .

I don't suppose that includes them also having a set of eyes, does it? Eyes are an important element to identifying someone.
I'm thinking about the "if your eye offends you, snatch it out" bit. I'm thinking that one SHOULD work in reverse, too, i.e. snatching OTHER people's eyes out if they offend you?

OK, there seems to be some confusion on my advice. Let me clarify, kay?
Back to the teens---not that I think you dismembering barbie dolls and fantasizing makes you abnormal, Dears, I'm just uptight.
Yes, I misspoke: "disembodied torsos" is logically impossible, since you cannot remove a torso from itself (the body).
I didn't mean to suggest breastless OR limbless: as NC said, they serve a purpose in the fantasy, as does the sexy upper arm, or a well-formed clavicle, or...... (AHEM!)
What I was originally conceiving of was a fleshbot, a synthetic mass of latex of 90 lbs that has anatomically-correct holes. But the important thing to remember is, NO FACES!!! Faces mean you're able to identify the women, and no identifiable women to look at lustfully means no thought sin has occurred. Gotta keep her abstract, no names! At least, that's how I'm reading Jesus' words....

In fact, the best that centuries of church scholars have come up with to criticize the matter was in Genesis when Onan was struck dead for spilling his seed on the ground and not impregnating his dead brother's wife. Even if he masturbated to produce this emission, the issue is providing some offspring, and that was what he was punished for.
The sin though, was having sex with his brother's widow to impregnate her (as he was obligated to do, per the Torah), but then withdrawing before ejaculating ("spilling his seed", a practice which the rappers today refer to as 'skeet shooting': hmmm, I dunno why?). So he was able to enjoy having sex with her, without producing offspring so his dead brother's name could live on (in our goofy ideas about genetics, we actually thought someone's genes could be passed on in this manner.... The things us guys can dream up, and women will believe! Besides, it's not like the God who created mankind was our God YHWH, and He could've given us laws that actually made any real sense!).
So with this background, the WT spins a bunch of guilt around it with absolutely no scripture to support their position. So one could wonder why this is. When you consider it is pretty much a universal practice, then they cunningly know that they can induce guilt in someone doing it, and they can also induce a portion of the "guilty" to confess this sin breach of WT dictates and then have them in a place where they can be manipulated and controlled.
As I mentioned before, the Hebrews considered male emissions as rendering one ritually unclean for a time, as did a women's menstruation. A man having sex with a menstruating women was the WORST of all possible sins, on the par with murder and idolatry. This violation could NOT be atoned by sacrifice, and was considered to bring a curse on the land, not just on the offending couple but to all inhabitants of the Land of Israel.
(interesting that JWs now state that sex during menstruation is a "matter of conscience" for the married couple. Would WTBTS ALSO state that murder and idolatry are "matters of conscience", too? NO? Why not? You downgraded the sin of sex during menstruation, a law YHWH deemed equally important!)
Some secondary damage could come from people who try to avoid this normal outlet to sexual activity, so they marry young and inappropriately, with all the problems that result from this. The Watchtower creates a problem that does not previously exist, and their is no need for it to exist other than making people fearful and subserviant to them.
Yup, purely a control issue. Nothing more, nothing less: an excuse to exercise control over others.
